Bhopal Medical Appeal Runners in London 10K 2017

Natalya Watson and Nigel Owens celebrate the finish

Sunday 9th July was a lovely, baking hot day just right for a picnic in Hyde park. Unfortunately for the BMA running team, they had to run 10KM before being served a plateful of delicious curry and enjoying a nice, cold beer.

A smaller team than normal for this popular event but, as ever, the race and of course the ensuing picnic, were both enthusiastically embraced. The bulk of our runners finished in and around the 1 hour mark which is a great performance in those conditions.

We’d like to thank all the runners who took part this year for their effort in both training for the run and for fundraising- along with other runners who have pulled out through injury but  still made the effort to raise funds.

We’d also like to thank our friends the ‘Langford Family’- Nigel, Vic, Chloe and Elliot who volunteer to serve the picnic every year and without whom we’d really struggle.

An extra thankyou to ‘Mo’ from Bethnal Green’s ‘Al-Amin’ restaurant for his invaluable help in recruiting runners, supplying a great picnic, and securing us free sponsored ‘Mongoose’ beer.

Great stuff all round!
