Bhopal Education Project for Pupils in New York

A presentation to commemorate 10,000 days since the Bhopal Gas disaster taught to British pupils in New YorkThis week, students at the British International School in New York have been learning about the Bhopal gas disaster. The students gathered to watch a presentation focused on the 10,000 Days campaign which was launched in April and commenerates 10,000 days since the huge cloud of poison gas 500 times more toxic than cyanide spewed from the Union Carbide factory in Bhopal.

The pupils watched the presentation as part of their ‘Asian Studies’ class and asked lots of questions. The project will be continued with the children taking part in follow-up studies and a ‘coin drive’ to raise funds for the Bhopal Medical Appeal. The ‘coin drive’ involved the pupils bringing in spare change from their households and assembling the coins in the corridoors to form a line around the entire school.

Thanks to Giles, and all of the teachers at the British International School for their support. Special thanks to Suzanne for preparing the 10,000 days presentation.
