Bhopal Disaster Survivor Pensioners and Widows Burn Effigy in City Park

On the 30th November, 2017, as we approach the 33rd anniversary of the Bhopal Disaster, members of Bhopal Gas Peedit Nirashrit Pensionbhogi Sangharsh Morcha (BGPNPSM), a group supporting Bhopal Disaster widows and pensioners, stage a demonstration at the Yaadgare Shahjahani park in Bhopal.

They point out the lack of care and support they receive as pensioners, whilst still suffering ill-health as a result of the disaster, along with the pitiful levels of compensation they have received. Later, an effigy representing Union Carbide, Dow Chemical, and the Central and State government was burned.
