We are pleased to announce that we are now able to receive donations through our Facebook page. If you visit our page there will now be an option to donate directly to the charity through Facebook with the click of a single button.

Additionally, you will now have the ability to setup your own fundraisers for the BMA through Facebook, again with a single click! If you scroll down to the first section on our page you will see ‘Create Fundraiser’ button. Once you click on it you will be given the option to enter an amount you would like to raise and the date you want the fundraiser to finish. Once you continue, Facebook will create your own fundraiser page for you which you can share with others and use to track the amount you have raised! Fundraisers form an essential part of our identity as a charity and how we fund the amazing work taking place at the Sambhavna and Chingari clinics. They also represent an opportunity for our supporters to engage in community activities that directly connect with the kind of community healthcare the survivors are receiving in Bhopal, whether it is physical rehabilitation through yoga and ayurvedic medicine, or mental wellbeing through communal projects such as gardening, music, and dance.

Fundraising ideas that have proved popular with supporters in the past include running yoga or meditation sessions, community gardening, cooking Indian food, walks and cycling trips, arts and crafts workshops, film evenings, music events, and dance events. Some individuals have also very generously run fundraisers by encouraging friends and family to donate to the clinics in lieu of gifts on their birthdays, weddings, or other holidays.

If you are interested in running a fundraiser for us and would like to discuss ideas or need help running an event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We have resources we can share for your events, including several films about the disaster that document the inspiring stories of the survivors’ fight for justice. You can email us at [email protected] or reach us at +44 (0)1273 603278 – we are always delighted to hear from you.
