Bhopal Sticks to Their Skin at Les Photographiques, Le Mans

Bhopal Sticks to Their Skin is a moving portrayal of women survivors of the Bhopal Disaster clothed in Sarees printed with imagery of the disaster. Photographer Isabeau De Rouffignac carried out the project in early 2018 and it is now on show as a part of ‘Les Photographiques’

“Photographers, like other artistic bodies, are sensitive to the human as an individual, to humanity and its future and to the world that houses them. They try to convey their concerns, each employing for this purpose, a writing of its own.

“Les Photographiques 2019, retranscribes these points of view through a selection mixing works around the identity, intimate or common, and others, pertaining to societal and environmental questions.”

Laurent DELHAYE / President of the association festival de l’image, organizer of Les Photographiques.

Le Mans, France, from March 16th to April 7th
