28 Reasons to support the BMA – Reason # 11

For the next 28 days the Bhopal Medical Appeal will be sharing with our supporters just a few of the reasons why it’s so important to continue to stand with the survivors of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Disaster and ongoing water contamination crisis. In the days leading up to the 28th anniversary of this tragedy, we ask you to share these posts with your friends, and encourage others to make a donation to the BMA.

Reason # 11

The Sambhavna Trust Clinic uses Ayurveda—an indigenous Indian medical practice—alongside Western treatment. The Ayurvedic methods are made from plants and herbs from the herbal medicine garden. The garden produces fresh herbs used for making the all-natural medicines that are dispensed by the clinic. Patients are trained in organic gardening techniques, and community members are educated about growing and using their own medicinal herbs; this is a wonderful example of a home-grown alternative to expensive and potentially harmful pharmaceutical medicines.
