Bhopal Campaigners at Dow’s ‘DuPont Merger’ Stockholder Meeting

Dow HQ DuPont Protest 2016

Our picture shows members of the International Campaign for Justice in Bhopal outside Dow’s HQ in Midland Michigan prior to the special meeting where, as we understood it, stockholders were to vote on the proposed merger of Dow with DuPont.

At the meeting, the campaigners were intending to raise the fact that Dow has omitted crucial information, concerning Bhopal related liabilities, from its proxy material, as previously reported on our website: CLICK

In a somewhat bizarre turn of events, the ‘meeting’ seemed only to pay lip-service to any of the stockholders’ concerns. Ellie, Claire and Jesse were there, representing the Bhopal campaign, and had this to say: “What the media won’t tell you about the Dow-DuPont special shareholder meetings held today. The ‘meeting’ was all of three minutes long. Overheard were shareholders saying “we drove all this way for that”, “I went to the bathroom and missed the whole meeting”!”
