WORD MEDICINE – Online Poetry Workshop – Thursday 1st October

Following the inspiring response to our first online poetry workshop in June, we’re delighted to invite you to Word Medicine, the next stage in our exploration of the Bhopal gas disaster and its aftermath through poetry and creative writing.

Led by the wonderful poet and writer Hazel Stewart, this special 90-minute workshop celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Sambhavna Trust Clinic.

Hazel will share lines from poems by Bhopali poets and others as a springboard for finding our own words. Through creative writing exercises and wordplay, we’ll explore healing, love, hope and care, reflecting on the creativity and resilience that have emerged in the decades since the disaster, the ongoing struggle for justice, and the remarkable work of Sambhavna.

For 30 years, Sambhavna has provided survivors and their families with holistic, sustainable healthcare rooted in the community.

No previous writing experience is needed. Whether you’re an experienced poet or have never written creatively before, you’re warmly invited to join us.
