The Chingari Trust Celebrates its 13th Anniversary

On September 25th 2019, the Chingari Trust celebrated its 13th anniversary with a function at Ravindra Bhawan, Bhopal. In preparation for the event, 47 congenitally disabled children suffering from conditions including cerebral palsy, development delay, and hearing impairment, practiced dance under the guidance of Nosheen Khan (speech therapist), Shadab Mirza (community health worker), and other staff members of the Chingari Trust. On the day they performed a program of traditional dances.

Through these beautiful performances the children at Chingari have shown that those with disabilities, when provided with proper rehabilitation facilities and care, can still lead a normal life and they continue to be an inspiration to us all here at the Bhopal Medical Appeal.

The Chingari clinic has continued thrive since the opening of the new expansion back in February of this year. Presently, 1022 children affected by the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and subsequent water contamination are registered for treatment at Chingari Trust, 320 of whom visit Chingari regularly for Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other specialised educational requirements. They are also provided with a midday meal and can use the Pick-up and Drop-off service and other facilities free of charge.
