Our partner organisation, Scottish Friends of Bhopal, have organised a sponsored cycle ride from Falkirk Wheel to Edinburgh Quay. The cycle ride will take place on Saturday the 15th June 2013.
The Water Wheels Charity Cycle is a great way to see the beautiful landscapes of the Lothians as you ride along a historic canal. The 32 mile, easy paced ride is accessible to all cyclists, from novice to the most regular and keen!
Starting at the stunning Falkirk Wheel, riders will meet at 10am and start pedalling along the towpaths of the Union Canal passing over pretty bridges and aqueducts, before finishing at Edinburgh Quay. There will be an opportunity to break off and cycle past Grangemouth for those who want to.
The Waterwheels Charity Cycle ride takes place in aid of the Bhopal Medical Appeal. The Bhopal Medical Appeal helps fund two clinics in Bhopal, India—providing free medical care to thousands of people who suffer the effects from the 1984, Bhopal Gas Disaster and the ongoing chemical contamination of their water supply.
It would be great to see cyclists out showing their support for this cause. We ask participants to raise a minimum £50 sponsorship for the Bhopal Medical Appeal.
