Sambhavna Trust Clinic Staff March in Memory of Gas Victims.

Press Statement from the Sambhavna Trust

On the eve of the 33rd Anniversary of the Union Carbide Gas Disaster in Bhopal, members of the Sambhavna Trust Clinic today marched with candles and portraits of gas victims who have died untimely deaths this year. Members of the bereaved families joined them in remembering the over 25 thousand people who have been killed by Union Carbide’s poisonous gases. All of the deceased were less than 60 years at the time of their death and two of them were just 33 years old when they died. The marchers observed two minutes of silence at the end of the march and resolved to continue supporting the survivors’ attempts to recover from the effects of the disaster.

We believe Dow must finally accept responsibility for Bhopal. Until then, The Bhopal Medical Appeal funds two award-winning clinics in the city. Both offer free, first-class care to victims of the gas disaster or the ongoing water contamination. The survivors have nowhere else left to turn – please help if you can.
