‘Run for Bhopal’ a sponsored 7km run put on by students from the National Law Institute University (NLIU) in Bhopal will take place next week to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the deadly gas disaster.
Pupils from local schools have taken part in an inter-school poster competition to raise awareness for the run. Proceeds from the event will be donated towards rehabilitation projects for the survivors of the Bhopal gas disaster.
Acting as a pre-event to Run For Bhopal, the Inter School Poster Making Competition saw participation from all major schools of Bhopal.
Themes included “Run for a Better Bhopal” and “Bhopal Gas Tragedy-28 Years Down the Line”. Prizes will be distributed to participants at the closing ceremony of the run. The best posters will be exhibited at TT Nagar Stadium.
The run will take place on Sunday the 2nd December 2012 at the T.T. Nagar Stadium in Bhopal.
