Glastonbury: our Bhopali Sculpture Garden in progress

The Bhopali Sculpture Garden armatures (left: the six-foot skull and the top half of the eight-foot mother and child) are getting ready for a big night out.

There’s five more taking shape right now (are they nearly done Alan? we’re coming for them tomorrow!).

Decisions, decisions, oh what to wear? Must make an impression, be weather-proof, be welcoming. Mmmmm, bright colours: fabric scraps and plastic bags; beautiful patterns and some loud prints will do it.

This going to take a little thought, a little time, the ‘dressing team’ could really do with your help…come and lend a hand in our recycled art workshops running daily at the festival.

And if you’re in Brighton reading this, do have a root through your cupboards for fabric scraps – that favourite old piece of material that you’ve been meaning to make into something for literally years could come out from under the bed or the top of the cupboard – and live on!

We’re taking fabric scrap donations for our Bhopali Sculpture Garden in the Leftfield at Glastonbury till 6pm on Friday 17th June at the Bhopal Medical Appeal office in the North Laine, Brighton.

We believe Dow must finally accept responsibility for Bhopal. Until then, The Bhopal Medical Appeal funds two award-winning clinics in the city. Both offer free, first-class care to victims of the gas disaster or the ongoing water contamination. The survivors have nowhere else left to turn – please help if you can.
