Waltham Forest schools
The Change for Children Team in the London Borough of Waltham Forest are working with the Bhopal Medical Appeal to develop our educational resources. The Team have piloted an introduction to Bhopal and follow-up activities that fit with Citizenship Key Stage 3 of the national curriculum. The lesson plans and accompanying resources are designed principally to fit within the Citizenship curriculum; however, staff suggest they would be useful in the teaching of Geography, History, and in cross-curricular activity, and the new secondary curriculum lends itself to this model of working.
A visit to the Borough by the Bhopal Bus in June 2010 brought the issue alive for primary and secondary children, and we’re planning more extension activities for this coming anniversary on the 2nd/3rd December.
