Vandana Shiva Presents the Chingari Award on the 28th anniversary

Author and activist Vandana Shiva presents the Chingari award to the women fighting the nuclear power plant at Kudankulam with Bhopal activists Champa Devi Shukla and Rashida Bee.

Using the Goldman Environmental award Champa Devi Shukla and Rashida Bee set up the Chingari Trust for rehabilitation of children born with various psychological and physical disabilities from exposure to toxic gas or contamination water in Bhopal. They also give an annual grant, the Chingari award, to women who are protecting the environment and fighting corporate crime across India. On the 3rd of December 2012, the 28th anniversary of the Bhopal gas disaster, Dr Vandana Shiva was invited to present the Chingari award to the women fighting the nuclear power plant at Kudankulam.
